Today it is my turn for the Reel Time blog hop. Reel Time is the new line by Brigitte Heiland of Zen Chic for Moda, and it is gorgeous! I absolutely love the TV prints, and text. And fellow fans of Comma, this line brings back the lovely green and orange from that line.
I was extremely excited to get a chance to work with the line, and wanted to get a small quilt top done in time for the blog hop. But sadly, all three kids and the hubby came down with some nasty stomach bug, and when they are finally all recovering.. I got hit hard with a sinus infection and quite possibly an ear infection on top of that. I am a little messed up today. So unfortunately I didn't get much sewing done over the past two weeks.
I have wanted to make the pattern Russian Rubix by April Rosenthal of Prairie Grass Studio for quite a while, and when I got the Reel Time fabric, I thought it would be fun to use this in the pattern. Unfortunately I was only able to get one complete block done.
The blocks actually came together pretty quickly, and I plan on getting a few more done whenever I can kick this illness to the curb. I will definitely keep you all posted as I get more done. I do wish there was more of that blue in this line though, I fell pretty hard for the blue circle print that I used in the above block. Luckily I can get four blocks out of each print in the layer cake I received, and I may raid my stash for some blue to pull in and accent. You can never have enough blue in a quilt, I say.
